Cookie Policy
What Are Cookies?
Nope, unfortunately, they’re not the soft, gooey chocolate ones you might have hoped for! These types of cookies are tiny text files that are temporarily placed on your computer. As explained in our Cookie Policy, there are many advantages to using cookies.
For you, the user, they allow websites to gather information about your personal preferences and deliver a more personalized browsing experience. For us, as the website owner, they help us collect non-personal information about how users interact with our site so we can improve functionality and performance.
Not Hungry? You Have a Choice…
You always have the choice as to whether or not you want to accept these useful cookies. Cookies are, by default, accepted by 99% of web browsers but you can change this within your browser settings if you so wish. A word of warning though if you do: you’re likely to experience a dramatically reduced user experience and you won’t get full functionality for a lot of websites. For more information about cookies and for details on how to remove them visit AboutCookies.org.
What Cookies Do Socialsail Use?
As outlined in our Cookie Policy, the cookies we use on our website collect only anonymous information to help us optimize our services and improve user experience. We do not collect any personal information through cookies.
Google Analytics: This cookie allows us to see data on things like the number of visits to our site as well as the browsing behaviour of those visitors. This sort of data allows us to see which sections of our site are most popular and which aren’t so popular. All info is depersonalised and can never be tracked back to the individuals.
Google AdWords: By using the code provided by Google AdWords we are able to better track the successes (or failures) of our advertising through the AdWords platforms. It lets us, for example, see which advert from which campaign you clicked on before you submitted one of our contact forms.
Social Shares: All of the social sharing features on our website set their own cookies (Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn ) so that we can track social engagement.
How Can You Opt Out?
To opt out of our use of cookies, you can instruct your browser to stop accepting cookies or to prompt you before accepting a cookie from websites you visit. If you do not accept cookies, however, you may not be able to use all aspects of our services. Socialsail and our third-party partners also collect information using web beacons (also known as “tracking pixels”).
